KATIE KIMBERLING

ALPHA DOG, EXECUTIVE FUNCTION/LIFE COACH, FOUNDER AND TUTOR

While she has always incorporated some type of connection with teenagers and college students throughout her varied career(s), Katie Kimberling found a hidden love and natural talent for helping adolescents discover their inner potential more than twenty years ago. She has been coaching and tutoring as her full-time and only job ever since.

It was a long, hard road getting here. A native of Oklahoma City, Katie was a “Lifer” at Casady School where, in 10th grade, she was voted NOT as best smile or prettiest eyes (both titles for which she yearned) but as “most likely to come back to Casady and teach.” After battling her natural gift for long enough, she gave in to the siren call of aiding adolescent angst, and has never been happier.

Her curricular strengths lie in tutoring any math (from pre-algebra through Calculus 4) and Statistics. She is a certified Academic Life Coach by the International Coaching Federation, and has vast experience with Executive Functioning Coaching for college students, especially for those with ADD, ADHD, or ASD.

She is a proud, active member of Sooner Rotary, and a past graduate of both Leadership Oklahoma and Leadership Oklahoma City (Class XXIII in both organizations, which makes it easy to remember).

Katie attended Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, and holds a BS in Zoology (which her mother says qualifies her to clean up after elephants at the zoo), and an MPH in Biostatistics/Epidemiology from OU (which her mother thinks has something to do with skin diseases. It doesn’t.). Starting in the Fall of 2024, Katie will begin pursuing her Masters in Data Science from the University of San Diego.

Katie lives in Norman with Stevie the Wonder Pug and Jinx the Pseudo Pug. When she’s not saving academic lives, she loves to paint whimsical pictures, create stained glass pieces, catch up on true crime podcasts, and hike/trek/climb. She has summited Mt. Kilimanjaro, climbed the high points of Oklahoma, Arizona, and New Mexico, completed a Grand Canyon rim-to-river-to-rim, and recently trekked the Cordillera Huayhuash in Peru. Her next big challenge (aside from her own school) is the Cactus to Clouds hike in Palm Springs, California. One day, 20.3 miles, 10,800 feet elevation gain. Ye gods.

JINX

Tutor"Pug"

I’m Jinx, and I was adopted into my forever home in November of 2021. Stevie is my running and barking buddy – we’re pretty much the coolest gang ever. I’m the fastest dog in the dog park, and my favorite things are hiking with mom, car rides, sleeping in the Big Bed, and playing Keep Away from anybody, with anything.

STEVIE MARIE

TutorPug

Hi! I’m Stevie and I’m a 4-year old mess. I like to run for no reason, bark for no reason, and can fall asleep mid-stride. I have a PhD in Cute, and once I’m done barking at you, I’ll probably fall asleep snoring in your lap. I don’t mean anything when I bark at you, it’s just how I manifest my anxiety. It’s okay, mom says I’m getting better. Slowly.
